This was our living room before we bought the house. I highly recommend clicking to enlarge and enjoy your trip back to 1972 and/or your grandmother’s house.
These pictures don’t capture the smell of dirt, nicotine and stale urine. The carpet (green shag) was ancient and encrusted with 40 years of I-don’t-know-what. The windows ran yellow sludge when we washed them. Behind the lathe and plaster was sketchy wiring and no insulation, just two layers of brick between us and the Canadian winter.
Six months later, new walls, ceilings, wiring and undercovering and cleaning and waxing the floors underneath, we can move our furniture on Monday. Stay tuned for the grand unveiling!
