More of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Adam did some awesome sleeping last night – 7:30 to 11:00, 11:30 to 2:00, 2:30 until 6:45, which meant I only got up with him once! Go baby!

Just as we were turning a corner with our finances, we’ve run into some problems. Thomas’ computer is crapping out on him and we ordered an external hard drive to try and save his files before the whole thing crashes. It was something I was intending to buy anyway, but I was hoping to use online survey money to buy it. And I was half way there! Oh, well. We ended up using our Swagbucks gift cards to take a little off the price.

Hopefully, the computer can be fixed. If not, Thomas still needs a computer so we’ll have to find a way to get a new one.

Our car is 11 years old and came to us nearly three years ago. We’d moved out of the Big City and Thomas needed a car for work. Another priest gave us his old car and we paid for some repairs, so we got the car for under $1000. Since we had been considering leasing a car, we figured even if the car lasted four months, it would be worth it. Nearly three years later, she’s starting to crap out, too.

The car might not be worth fixing and we have a couple friends who are looking to sell a used car. We’ll see. But again, it’s going to be hard financially. I am thankful that the car has lasted this long and has taken us so many places together.

My mum and I made strawberry jam yesterday. It was very messy, but worth it. One afternoon of work – a year of homemade jam! Wanna see?

  1. I haven’t been strawberry picking in a few years. I need to go again.

Sorry about all the expenses. That really blows.

  2. It seems that car trouble is going around. I hope that the car holds out for you. The jam looks amazing!
