Financial Goals

We’re not where I’d hoped we’d be at the end of the year, financially speaking. Fortunately, we didn’t have any huge disasters but the cost of food made our already tight budget even tighter and extra money that came in often went to buy groceries. And A LOT of our money goes towards paying off debt. Student debt, renovation debt – it can be discouraging.

We did make some good changes this past year. I started two separate emergency funds for the two most likely disasters – our car and our cat. Both are elderly and about to break down. There isn’t much in the funds but I’m adding a little more every month.

I’ve added some progress bars to my sidebar so we can (hopefully) watch them climb!
